Description:
The Fullstack Engineer position at GitLab focuses on working with TypeScript to develop Editor Extensions for the Create:Editor Extensions team.
The team's main project is the VS Code extension, where they work on cutting-edge AI enhancement projects to expand IDE support.
Responsibilities include advocating for product quality, security, and performance improvements, solving technical problems, defining internal standards, mentoring junior engineers, and collaborating on larger projects.
The role requires expertise in TypeScript, Node.js, Language Server, Git, CSS, and Vue.
The team is currently working on projects like VS Code Language Server Integration and integrating a code parser to enhance Code Suggestions.
Requirements:
Significant professional experience with Typescript or JavaScript is mandatory for this role.
Professional experience with VS Code Extension is also mandatory.
Expertise in Language Server, Visual Studio Code API, and implementing and optimizing Language Servers.
Mastery of Language Server Protocol (LSP) and understanding of Extension Points in VS Code.
Proficiency in English, both written and verbal, is required for success in a remote work environment.
Demonstrated ability to communicate complex technical problems and propose solutions concisely.
Experience with performance and optimization problems, project ownership, and working in a fully remote organization.
Familiarity with GitLab and comfort with the code review process.
