Remote Fullstack Engineer (Typescript), Create: Editor Extensions

Description:

• The Fullstack Engineer position at GitLab focuses on working with TypeScript to develop Editor Extensions for the Create:Editor Extensions team.
• The team's main project is the VS Code extension, where they work on cutting-edge AI enhancement projects to expand IDE support.
• Responsibilities include advocating for product quality, security, and performance improvements, solving technical problems, defining internal standards, mentoring junior engineers, and collaborating on larger projects.
• The role requires expertise in TypeScript, Node.js, Language Server, Git, CSS, and Vue.
• The team is currently working on projects like VS Code Language Server Integration and integrating a code parser to enhance Code Suggestions.

Requirements:

• Significant professional experience with Typescript or JavaScript is mandatory for this role.
• Professional experience with VS Code Extension is also mandatory.
• Expertise in Language Server, Visual Studio Code API, and implementing and optimizing Language Servers.
• Mastery of Language Server Protocol (LSP) and understanding of Extension Points in VS Code.
• Proficiency in English, both written and verbal, is required for success in a remote work environment.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate complex technical problems and propose solutions concisely.
• Experience with performance and optimization problems, project ownership, and working in a fully remote organization.
• Familiarity with GitLab and comfort with the code review process.
