Remote Intermediate Backend Engineer, Create: Code Review

Description:

• GitLab is an open core software company that develops an AI-powered DevSecOps Platform used by over 100,000 organizations.
• The Create:Code Review Backend team is responsible for backend aspects of the Code Review Workflow and GitLab CLI product categories, focusing on Merge Requests features.
• As a Backend Engineer, you will develop and maintain backend systems for Merge Requests, ensuring accuracy, reliability, and speed.
• You will work on scalable, high-performance systems that enhance collaboration and iteration for customers.
• Responsibilities include developing features securely and efficiently, collaborating with Product Management and other stakeholders, advocating for product quality, solving technical problems, and conducting code reviews.
• You will also recognize and address technical debt, represent GitLab in public communications, ship features with minimal guidance, and participate in on-call rotations for troubleshooting.

Requirements:

• Significant professional experience with Ruby on Rails is required.
• Professional experience with PostgreSQL or a comparable RDBMS is necessary.
• Experience with Sidekiq is required.
• Proficiency in English, both written and verbal, is essential for success in a remote work environment.
• You must demonstrate the ability to communicate complex technical problems and propose solutions.
• Experience with performance optimization and the ability to diagnose and prevent issues is required.
• Comfort in a highly agile and iterative software development process is necessary.
• You should have a positive, solution-oriented mindset and effective communication skills.
• Experience in owning projects from concept to production is required.
• Self-motivation and excellent organizational skills are essential.
