Description:
GitLab is seeking an Intermediate Backend Engineer to help build and iterate on their RBAC (role-based access control) system.
The primary responsibility of the team is to enhance the authorization system, providing customers with full control over member access.
The role involves implementing custom permissions and building features to assist owners in discovering and managing their teams.
The engineer will make architectural decisions to ensure the scalability and performance of the product.
Opportunities exist to collaborate with the Anti-abuse team on security-focused features.
Responsibilities include participating in milestone planning, collaborating with team members, and engaging in weekly sync calls.
Requirements:
Candidates must have significant professional experience with Ruby on Rails.
Strong experience with relational databases, preferably PostgreSQL, is required.
Experience with RBAC (Role-Based Access Control) and ABAC (Attribute-Based Access Control) is necessary.
Familiarity with OAuth, SAML, SCIM, and LDAP is essential for this position.
