Description:

  • GitLab is seeking an Intermediate Backend Engineer to help build and iterate on their RBAC (role-based access control) system.
  • The primary responsibility of the team is to enhance the authorization system, providing customers with full control over member access.
  • The role involves implementing custom permissions and building features to assist owners in discovering and managing their teams.
  • The engineer will make architectural decisions to ensure the scalability and performance of the product.
  • Opportunities exist to collaborate with the Anti-abuse team on security-focused features.
  • Responsibilities include participating in milestone planning, collaborating with team members, and engaging in weekly sync calls.

Requirements:

  • Candidates must have significant professional experience with Ruby on Rails.
  • Strong experience with relational databases, preferably PostgreSQL, is required.
  • Experience with RBAC (Role-Based Access Control) and ABAC (Attribute-Based Access Control) is necessary.
  • Familiarity with OAuth, SAML, SCIM, and LDAP is essential for this position.
