Remote Intermediate Backend Engineer, Govern: Security Policies

Description:

• Join GitLab's Security Policies team to build a more secure software development lifecycle.
• Enhance the quality and robustness of current security policy features within GitLab.
• Focus on reducing the test gap, leading testing efforts, and developing automated test cases.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and frontend engineers to deliver impactful user experiences.
• Contribute to the future of Security Policies by introducing new features for greater control and visibility.
• Work on projects like Pipeline Execution Policies, Scan Execution Policies, and Merge Request Approval Policies.
• Contribute to on-call rotations to ensure the stability and security of GitLab operations.

Requirements:

• Proven expertise in Ruby on Rails development.
• Proficiency in relational databases, particularly PostgreSQL.
• Ability to articulate complex technical challenges and propose well-defined solutions.
• Solid understanding of software testing principles and experience with quality assurance tasks.
• Comfort working in an agile and intensely iterative software development process.
• Effective communication skills and ability to achieve consensus with peers.
• Experience owning a project from concept to production.
• Highly organized, self-starter with strong self-management skills.
