Remote Intermediate Fullstack Engineer, Fulfillment: Utilization

Description:

• As an Intermediate Fullstack Engineer on the Utilization team at GitLab, you will be responsible for building solutions that offer predictability to customers through transparent usage visibility, suggested usage management recommendations, and purchasing directions.
• You will assist sales teams by providing detailed usage data to support customers' growth.
• Your role will involve developing solutions to enhance seat cost management functionality, simplifying assignment, management, and billing for seat overages.
• Projects you will work on include Automated Removal of Dormant Members, Seat Usage Tracking and Reporting, and Enhancing User Caps to handle non-billable users effectively.
• Backend topics you will work with include Ruby on Rails, integration with REST services, and designing GraphQL schemas.
• Frontend topics include Vue.js, Webpacker, SCSS, and the Pajamas Design System.
• You will build customer-facing interfaces for applying and managing account usage, such as storage, seats, compute minutes, and other consumables.
• Collaboration with stakeholders on Product Management and other teams will be essential to ensure solutions meet requirements and maintain high quality standards.

Requirements:

• Proficiency in Ruby and Ruby on Rails is required for this role.
• Experience with JavaScript in a production environment is necessary.
• Familiarity with Vue (preferred), React, Svelte, and/or Angular is expected.
• Knowledge of PostgreSQL or similar RDBMS systems in production environments is essential.
• Strong curiosity to understand systems holistically and streamline processes is a key requirement.
• Experience owning a project from concept to production, including proposal, execution, and monitoring, is needed.
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely about technical, architectural, and organizational problems and propose solutions iteratively is crucial.
• Alignment with GitLab's values and working in accordance with those values is a must.
• Experience with subscription management or billing systems like Zuora or Salesforce is a plus.
