Description:
As an Intermediate Infrastructure Security Engineer at GitLab, you will be part of the Infrastructure Security Team in the Product Security Department.
Your main responsibility will be to ensure the security and resiliency of the components in GitLab's public cloud infrastructure.
You will focus on automation efforts to support the upcoming GitLab Dedicated for Government product offering.
Tasks include identifying and mitigating security issues, misconfigurations, and vulnerabilities in cloud, container, and Kubernetes infrastructure.
You will develop tooling to enhance visibility into environments for faster vulnerability detection.
Documenting best practices and remediations to educate engineers on common vulnerability types will be part of your role.
Collaborating with senior engineers to review new project architectures and provide feedback across teams is essential.
You will contribute to securing GitLab Infrastructure with the product itself ("dogfooding").
Requirements:
Hands-on experience with public cloud providers like AWS, GCP, or Azure.
Proficiency in Ruby, Python, and Go for development.
Familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or Chef.
Knowledge of the Linux operating system.
Experience with containers (Docker) and orchestration platforms (Kubernetes).
Interest in Information Security.
Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
Strong communication skills for text-based mediums like Slack, GitLab Issues, and Email.
