Description:
As an Intermediate Site Reliability Engineer specializing in Environment Automation at GitLab, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of all user-facing services and production systems.
Your role will involve automating workflows related to a large number of GitLab environments, from provisioning new environments to daily operational tasks.
Projects you may work on include automating the operation of GitLab environments, creating deployment packages, building Dedicated GitLab setups using infrastructure as code automation, deploying and operating microservices on Kubernetes, and enhancing cloud security practices.
You will collaborate with engineering stakeholders to resolve architectural bottlenecks and work closely with software development teams to shape the future roadmap.
The role requires a US Citizen or Permanent Resident status, experience in running production workloads, strong programming skills (preferably in Ruby and/or Go), familiarity with Infrastructure as Code technologies like Terraform and Ansible, and the ability to reason about large systems and edge cases.
You should enjoy collaborating with peers, leveraging GitLab as a primary tool, and interacting with customers to resolve their requests promptly.
Requirements:
Must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident.
Experience in running and operating production workloads is required.
Strong programming skills, preferably in Ruby and/or Go.
Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code technologies like Terraform and Ansible, with experience in data templating tools such as Jsonnet considered a bonus.
Ability to reason about large systems, edge cases, failure modes, and behaviors.
Enjoy collaborating with peers, leveraging GitLab as a primary tool, and interacting with customers to resolve their requests promptly.
