Remote iOS Engineer

Description:

• Sporty is a leading Sports Betting website with millions of weekly active users, aiming to be the best in the industry.
• The company launched its first iOS app in January 2021 and is looking for an iOS developer to contribute to the greenfield development of one of Africa’s most popular iOS apps as it expands globally.
• The tech stack includes Swift, MVC, MVVM, Programmatic UI, Xib, XCTest, Swift Package Manager, Fastlane, Github Action, and Jenkins.
• Responsibilities include collaborating with Product Managers, Designers, and Backend Engineers to design and deliver high-quality iOS products, building end-to-end app features, preparing and maintaining architectural documents, analyzing and recommending solutions for existing issues, participating in code reviews, and mentoring less experienced team members.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have 2+ years of professional experience developing consumer-facing iOS applications using Swift.
• Experience in developing, delivering, and supporting native iOS applications by integrating REST APIs, push notifications, and multithreading is required.
• A solid foundation in software engineering fundamentals, object-oriented programming, MVC architecture, and iOS design patterns is essential.
• A deep understanding of multi-threading, memory management, networking, caching, performance optimization, localization, and security for mobile applications is necessary.
• Candidates should possess a creative approach to problem-solving and crafting simplified solutions.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and collaboration skills are required to effectively communicate with both business and technical teams.
• Previous experience working with a remote, distributed team is beneficial.
• Bonus requirements include experience with mobile video playback and streaming technologies, reactive programming (e.g., RxSwift, Combine), AVFoundation, CoreData, WKWebView, and TCP/IP socket.
