Description:
Tillster is seeking a Software Engineer / Java Back End Software Engineer to handle advanced problems escalated by Technical Support, Engineering, and customers.
This role will coordinate and assist in POS PSI implementations.
Responsibilities include collecting information and documenting bugs with colleagues across Technical Support, QA, and Engineering for product issues impacting customers.
The engineer will serve as the internal and external point of contact on customer escalations, ensuring issues are resolved expediently.
The position requires providing an interface between Technical Support, Product, and Engineering teams.
Meeting or exceeding customer expectations on response quality and timeliness is essential.
The engineer must understand and adhere to all company SLAs and contractual agreements.
Compliance with all reporting requirements is necessary.
The role involves providing reliable direction to help customers integrate, deploy, and maintain Tillster products and services.
The engineer will author and review knowledge base content to improve customer self-service capabilities.
Feedback to colleagues in charge of training and documentation is expected to address common or emerging issues.
Creative thinking is encouraged to develop process improvements and enhance customer satisfaction.
The engineer will work with customers to resolve or replicate issues and validate new stores before going live.
The role includes developing web services for integration into different enterprise applications with a focus on external system integrations like Point-of-Sale and payments.
The engineer will work as part of a globally-distributed team supporting multi-national brands and millions of users.
Requirements:
A BA/BS/MS in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related discipline is required.
A minimum of 3 years of experience as a Java Developer, building cloud/serverless components, and providing direct technical support to customers is necessary.
A real passion for solving customer issues and advocating for their success in a fast-paced, highly technical environment is essential.
The ability to learn new technologies quickly is required.
Excellent relationship management, customer service, and communication skills in various forms are necessary.
The candidate must be able to work independently with little supervision and as part of a team.
Strong analytical and organizational abilities are required.
The ability to remain calm and articulate in tough customer situations is essential.
Strong Java software engineering skills with expertise in designing and developing reusable service-oriented Java applications using RESTful web services are required.
Proficiency in Java technologies such as Core Java, Collections, Servlets, JDBC, JSON, JUNIT, JAX-RS, Git, and Java Executor is necessary.
Relevant operating system knowledge (Linux, Windows, Containers) and networking is required.
Effective communication skills in English, both verbal and written, are necessary.
Previous experience with Point-of-Sale development and supporting REST APIs and SOAP is required.
Hands-on experience using monitoring tools such as Cloudwatch, ELK stack, and New Relic is necessary.
AWS expertise, including hands-on experience with writing and troubleshooting Lambdas, DynamoDB, S3 integration, and Cloudwatch, is required.
Experience with Jira and working in an Agile environment is necessary.
Benefits:
The expected base salary range is $105,000 - $135,000, with total starting compensation determined based on lawful criteria and company policy.
All employees in the U.S. are eligible to participate in the Stock Option Plan.
