Remote Java Developer - Contract - US

Description:

• Atimi is seeking an experienced backend software contractor for a fully remote position in the USA, with EST working hours.
• The role involves collaborating proactively within a project team to develop products and guide the team through the entire development lifecycle.
• Responsibilities include ensuring code quality and governance, planning and contributing to architecture and development, and refactoring codebases for continuous improvement.
• The contractor will communicate technical decisions thoroughly to the global team and take responsibility for releases while supporting live applications.
• The position also involves engaging in DevOps activities beyond pure programming and delivering fair outcomes for customers with a high level of professionalism.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have strong Java development experience of at least 6 years and experience with AWS cloud environments for 4 years.
• A strong background in J2EE and previous experience with JSP is required.
• Candidates should possess strong object-oriented design skills and knowledge of design principles, patterns, and best practices.
• Experience working directly with clients and project stakeholders to define and refine requirements is necessary.
• Familiarity with using and/or configuring CI/CD pipelines and building scalable software services, such as serverless and microservices, is essential.
• Strong English skills, both written and verbal, are required.
• Preferred qualifications include experience with Javascript/Typescript and Test-Driven Development (TDD).
• The position is only open to Citizens and Green Card holders located in the United States, and relocation support is not provided.
