Atimi is seeking an experienced backend software developer for a fully remote position in Canada, with EST working hours.

Responsibilities include proactive collaboration in project teams, ensuring code quality and governance, and guiding the team through the development lifecycle.
The role involves planning, estimating, and contributing to architecture, coding, and development, as well as refactoring and continuous improvements of codebases.
The developer will communicate technical decisions thoroughly to the global team and take responsibility for releases and ongoing support of live apps.
Involvement in deployment and operation of software (DevOps) is expected, along with delivering fair outcomes for customers while maintaining professionalism.

Requirements:

Basic qualifications include strong Java development experience (6+ years) and experience with AWS cloud environment (2+ years).
Candidates must have strong experience in J2EE and previous experience with JSP.
Strong object-oriented design skills, knowledge of design principles, patterns, and best practices are required.
Experience working directly with clients and project stakeholders to define and refine requirements is necessary.
Candidates should have experience using and/or configuring CI/CD pipelines and building scalable software services (e.g., serverless, microservices).
Strong English skills (written and verbal) are essential.
Preferred qualifications include experience with Javascript/Typescript and TDD.
The position is open to anyone located in Canada, but relocation support is not provided.
