The role involves contributing to the Eclipse Dataspace Components and Eclipse Tractus-X open-source projects.
The objective is to actively contribute required features to the EDC Connector and Tractus-X open-source project, focusing on Java development and building essential building blocks for data exchange.
Responsibilities include delivering end-to-end solutions based on user requirements, building reusable and reliable software solutions, creating technical documentation, mentoring junior engineers, and collaborating with stakeholders from various industries.
The position allows for 20% of the time to be dedicated to personal passions and learning goals.
Requirements:
Candidates must have 5+ years of experience as a software engineer, including technical project management and a track record of shipping solutions at scale.
Professional proficiency in Java and a deep understanding of software architecture in distributed and cloud systems are required.
Experience in debugging, testing, and problem-solving skills is necessary.
A passion for open source and its potential to drive progress is essential.
Familiarity with Agile Software Development Techniques and Tools, TDD, and pair programming is expected.
Professional written and verbal fluency in English is required.
Candidates should have enthusiasm for data and data exchange to make better decisions for the planet's future.
A desire to work on impactful projects is important.
It would be beneficial to have a B.Sc or M.Sc in Computer Science or a similar technical discipline, experience organizing workshops or developer groups, and experience with standard cloud services providers, preferably AWS.
