Description:
The Junior Ruby Developer will design, develop, and maintain backend systems using Ruby, focusing on the language's core features and capabilities.
This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment to deliver high-quality software.
The developer is expected to write clean, efficient, and well-documented code while adhering to Test-Driven Development (TDD) practices.
Responsibilities include optimizing and maintaining PostgreSQL databases to ensure high performance and scalability.
The developer will troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing systems.
Participation in code reviews is also a key part of the role.
Requirements:
Proficiency in Ruby is required, with extensive experience in the language, including metaprogramming, performance tuning, and best practices.
Strong understanding of PostgreSQL is necessary, including relational database design, optimization, and SQL query writing.
Proven experience in Test-Driven Development (TDD) is essential, with the ability to write unit, integration, and system tests using tools like RSpec or Minitest.
Experience working in Agile methodologies is required, including practices like pair programming, sprints, and continuous delivery.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills are a must.
Familiarity with version control systems like Git is necessary.
Experience with Ruby frameworks such as Rails, Padrino, or Sinatra is preferred, although the focus is on core Ruby.
Familiarity with containerization tools such as Docker is beneficial.
Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines is required.
Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP is a plus.
