The company is an Australian-based firm that has developed workflow and automation software specifically for mortgage brokers.
They are expanding their remote team in the Philippines and are seeking a motivated Junior Software Engineer to join their development team.
The role involves collaborating closely with team members to develop, maintain, and enhance software platforms.
Responsibilities include participating in Lean/Agile/Scrum events, attending daily standup meetings, and monitoring the Agile board for assigned tasks.
The engineer will utilize GitHub for version control, initiate work on assigned tasks, and complete software developments according to requirements.
The position requires creating and managing pull requests for code review and actively participating in code reviews.
The engineer will address and fix bugs identified during development and develop and maintain the backend platform daily.
Implementing software solutions on cloud platforms like AWS and documenting architecture and codebase for future reference are also key responsibilities.
The role involves working on projects that utilize multiple services and technologies and developing new features from concept to implementation.
Fostering collaboration and good communication within the team for efficient workflow is essential.

Requirements:

A Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is required.
Candidates should have at least 1 to 2 years of experience in software engineering at an associate level.
Experience in utilizing NodeJS and JavaScript for backend development is necessary.
Knowledge of AWS native stack components such as API Gateway, Lambda, SQS, Dynamo, and RDS is required.
Familiarity with Domain Driven Design, Microservices, and RESTful APIs is essential.
The ability to work in an Agile/Scrum environment is necessary.
Strong documentation skills and experience with tools like Confluence, Jira, GitHub, and VSCode are required.
Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential.
Candidates must be able to effectively collaborate and communicate with the team.

The position offers full-time employment under a Philippine-based BPO, engaged by the client’s Australian company.
