Join PolicyMe, a remote-first, Toronto-based startup modernizing the insurance industry in Canada.
As a Junior Software Engineer (Fullstack), you will build, architect, and scale PolicyMe’s platform to enhance user experiences.
You will be responsible for developing key features and systems to support PolicyMe’s growth as a leading insurance brand in Canada.
The technology stack includes React, Redux, Python, Webpack, Gatsby, Node.js, PostgreSQL, and AWS.
Your tasks will include building new product features in the React-based web application, contributing to a custom UI component library, enhancing backend APIs, and participating in technical design discussions.

Requirements:

A BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience is required.
Experience with web development technologies such as HTML5, CSS3, ESNext, React, and Node.js is necessary.
Familiarity with UNIX/Linux environments is expected.
A solid understanding of computer science fundamentals is essential.
The ability to prioritize tasks and work independently in a fast-paced startup environment is crucial.
Excellent communication, organizational, problem-solving, debugging, and analytical skills are required.
