Description:

Lead data engineers at Thoughtworks develop modern data architecture approaches to meet key business objectives and provide end-to-end data solutions.
They may spend a few weeks with a new client on a deep technical review or a complete organizational review, helping them understand the potential that data brings to solve their most pressing problems.
On projects, they will lead the design of technical solutions or oversee a program inception to build a new product.
Alongside hands-on coding, they will lead the team to implement the solution.
Responsibilities include managing data engineering projects from inception to completion, collaborating with stakeholders, designing and developing data architecture, creating data processing pipelines, and ensuring data governance and quality.

Requirements:

Candidates must have experience in leading the system design and implementation of technical solutions.
A strong passion for working with data is essential, including experience in creating Big Data architecture and operating data pipelines within distributed systems.
A deep understanding of data modeling and experience with modern data engineering tools and platforms is required.
Proficiency in writing clean, high-quality code using a preferred programming language is necessary.
Experience in building and deploying large-scale data pipelines and data-centric applications in a production setting is expected.
Familiarity with data visualization techniques and the ability to communicate insights effectively is important.
Candidates should have experience with data-driven approaches and applying data security and privacy strategies.
Knowledge of different types of databases, including SQL, NoSQL, data lakes, and data schemas, is required.
