Description:
Allergan Data Labs is seeking a Lead Data Scientist to transform the Allergan Aesthetics beauty business at AbbVie.
The role involves reporting to the Data Science Manager and collaborating with key stakeholders to build data-driven products.
Responsibilities include achieving objectives for the Data Science & Engineering Department, overseeing technical solutions, and communicating schedules and milestones.
The Lead Data Scientist will serve as a technical thought leader, guiding and mentoring the data science team.
The position offers the opportunity to manage a small team of data scientists and analysts, setting goals and promoting career development.
Collaboration with Data Product Managers and cross-functional partners is essential to understand and document business requirements.
The role includes making individual technical contributions such as performing exploratory data analyses, conducting statistical analyses, and designing machine learning models.
The Lead Data Scientist will enforce governance and development standards, review technical designs, and document work for business partners and leadership.
Staying updated on developments in data science, machine learning, and AI is crucial, along with generating intellectual property and business ideas.
Requirements:
A completed BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Data Science, or a related quantitative field is required.
At least 7 years of experience as a Data Scientist applying statistical methods and machine learning is necessary.
Experience in designing, training, and evaluating machine learning models deployed in production is essential.
Strong programming skills in Python and experience with data manipulation frameworks such as Pandas and PySpark are required.
Proficiency in SQL and a good understanding of relational database design are necessary.
A broad knowledge of computational statistics and modeling techniques for machine learning and AI is required.
Familiarity with machine learning frameworks and libraries such as scikit-learn, PyTorch, and TensorFlow/Keras is essential.
Experience with experimental design, causal inference methods, and time series analysis is required.
Strong data visualization skills for both technical and non-technical audiences are necessary.
Familiarity with data architectures, DataOps, and MLOps principles is preferred.
Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills are essential, along with the ability to work effectively remotely.
