Description:
As a Lead Systems Engineer at Glassdoor, you will be responsible for the planning, design, and implementation of key processes and strategic initiatives across many of Glassdoor’s core IT infrastructure systems.
You will be a member of a small team with wide reach and exposure to a variety of best-in-class technologies.
Teams across Glassdoor will rely on your technical acumen to aid in the design and operation of production and service infrastructure.
You will plan and direct systems engineering activities on complex systems that solve complex problems, improve efficiency, or create an amazing experience for employees.
Your responsibilities will include developing and designing network architecture and infrastructure, building and managing cloud-based application and corporate IT service infrastructure, and leading partnerships with Security Engineering to implement cloud security solutions.
You will oversee initiatives that improve Glassdoor’s security posture and reduce overall risk, build and implement tools and automation to improve efficiency, and work closely with the Information Security team to secure the environment.
You will design a comprehensive monitoring strategy for corporate infrastructure, manage and optimize log aggregation platforms, and support day-to-day operations for production services.
You will act as a point of escalation for the support team and assure the availability and uptime of corporate infrastructure systems.
Additionally, you will evaluate, define, implement, and manage emerging technologies that align with Glassdoor’s technology strategy.
Requirements:

Expert knowledge of network technology and protocols such as TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, BGP, IPsec, and RADIUS is required, with experience in Palo Alto Networks and Meraki being a plus.
Extensive experience with Amazon Web Services and managing cloud infrastructure is necessary.
You should have experience with various AWS technologies such as AWS Systems Manager, GuardDuty, Workspaces, and AWS networking concepts like VPCs, Security groups, and Transit Gateways.
You must be an expert in Linux or Windows server operating systems, with working knowledge of both.
Extensive experience with client platform management tools like Jamf and Intune is required.
You should have automation experience using scripting languages like Python or PowerShell.
Configuration management experience using platforms like Ansible, Chef, or Puppet is necessary.
Familiarity with Active Directory is required.
Experience managing Atlassian servers such as JIRA or Confluence is a plus.
Benefits:
The base salary range for this position is $106,000 - $140,800, targeted to the market 75th percentile for technical roles.
An annual bonus target of 10% is offered, with bonuses paid in 6-month intervals.
