Description:

  • Join Axon and be a part of a mission to Protect Life by addressing critical safety and justice issues through innovative devices and cloud software.
  • As a Machine Learning Engineer II, you will architect and implement platforms for Axon scientists to enhance public safety.
  • Collaborate with engineers to enable new AI capabilities for Axon products such as Fleet, Axon Body, and Axon Air.
  • Support the training, evaluation, testing, and deployment of machine learning models across various domains including computer vision, speech recognition, and natural language understanding.
  • Architect solutions for distributed model training and evaluation, optimizing processes for continuous model improvement.
  • Develop state-of-the-art solutions for privacy-preserving distributed model training to influence the AI community.

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or a related technical field is required.
  • A minimum of 8 years of software engineering experience with a proven track record in training machine learning models.
  • Proficiency in Python and familiarity with machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, Keras, and PyTorch is essential.
  • Advanced knowledge and hands-on experience with at least one cloud environment (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Oracle, or Google Cloud) and Infrastructure as Code for deploying platforms at scale.
  • Experience with CI/CD solutions in MLOps, including automation with Infrastructure as Code (e.g., using Terraform).
  • Excellent problem-solving and software design skills are necessary.
  • Strong communication skills to interact effectively with scientists, engineers, and ML/product managers.
