Remote Machine Learning Research Engineer (Contractor)

Description:

• The Machine Learning Research Engineer position is a part-time role (20 hours or less per week) based in San Jose, California, or remote.
• The role involves assisting in the development of innovative systems for patent text generation using multimodal inputs.
• Responsibilities include conducting scientific research to design and develop machine learning algorithms in natural language processing for language modeling and multimodal text generation.
• The engineer will collaborate with other researchers, communicate with domain experts, and prepare presentations and technical reports to showcase experimental results.
• The position requires summarizing and publishing research findings in high-quality research papers and/or patent submissions.
• Candidates should demonstrate creativity and the ability to work effectively both as part of a team and as an individual contributor.
• A strong willingness to learn new algorithms, application areas, and tools is essential.

Requirements:

• Candidates must be a Ph.D. student or a Master's student in computer science, engineering, statistics, mathematics, information technology, or a related technical discipline.
• A strong background in machine learning, specifically deep learning, is required.
• Experience in natural language processing, text classification, and text generation algorithms is necessary.
• Knowledge of temporal text mining or working with temporal data is preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail are essential.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or MATLAB is required.
• Experience with machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, Keras, or PyTorch is necessary.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills are required.
