Description:
Excella is seeking a Managing Consultant Data Engineer to lead the design and implementation of scalable and innovative data architectures.
The role involves serving as a technical authority, providing strategic guidance and mentoring to teams while delivering enterprise-level data solutions.
Responsibilities include architecting enterprise-grade solutions, leading strategic initiatives, delivering complex data pipelines, fostering innovation, mentoring teams, engaging stakeholders, championing Agile best practices, establishing data governance, and assessing risks.
The position requires close collaboration with senior stakeholders to translate complex business requirements into actionable technical strategies.
Requirements:
Candidates must have 12+ years of professional experience in data engineering or similar technical roles, with a proven track record in designing and implementing large-scale data solutions.
Deep knowledge of data lake and data warehouse architectures, particularly cloud-native solutions on AWS, Azure, and GCP, is essential.
Expertise in modern data modeling approaches, including schema-less designs and automated ETL/ELT workflows with real-time processing is required.
Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, and Scala is necessary.
Extensive experience with streaming technologies like Kafka, Spark Streaming, and Flink is expected.
Strong expertise in metadata management, data cataloging, and search frameworks is required to enhance data discoverability.
Candidates should have proficiency in working with in-memory databases, graph databases, and developing Data-as-a-Service platforms.
Leadership skills are crucial, including a track record of leading cross-functional teams and mentoring engineers.
Exceptional problem-solving abilities and strategic vision are necessary to abstract complex business problems into actionable technical solutions.
Excellent written and oral communication skills are required to present complex concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
