Wellhub is hiring a Mid-level Backend Software Engineer for the Search & Discovery team in Portugal, which operates remotely.
The Discovery Team focuses on providing exploration and discovery services for Wellhub’s end-users, helping them find suitable wellbeing partners.
Responsibilities include building scalable architectures, writing clean code, and developing software services for search and recommendation technologies.
The role involves collaborating with other engineers, ensuring project delivery, and maintaining the technical health of services.
The engineer will analyze data to understand user preferences, build integrations with third-party APIs, and contribute to the product development process.

Requirements:
A B.S. degree in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience is required.
Candidates must have experience developing complex modern web services.
Proficiency in computer science fundamentals such as data structures, algorithm design, and problem-solving is necessary.
Experience with at least two programming languages, including Java, Python, or Go, is required.
Candidates should have a background in building complex software systems successfully delivered to customers.
Familiarity with cloud platforms and containerized application deployments is essential.
Experience with SQL and NoSQL technologies, such as PostgreSQL, Redis, or Elasticsearch, is required.
Strong communication skills in both verbal and written English and Portuguese are necessary.
It is a plus to have an interest in learning other coding languages, familiarity with machine learning concepts, and experience with Information Retrieval, Recommendation Systems, or Natural Language Processing.
