Description:

  • The position is for a Full Stack Developer / Software Engineer on a contract-to-hire basis, fully remote with an EST work schedule.
  • The role involves modernizing a suite of applications for a long-term government contract.
  • The candidate will work under the supervision of the Development Manager as a key member of a scrum team in an Agile Safe and Dev SecOps culture.
  • Responsibilities include developing and maintaining a web application/portal using Java, Python, AWS Containers, Angular, Node.js, React technologies, and AWS native services.
  • The candidate should have a good foundation in Web Application Portals, Single Sign On, JEE platform, AWS Serverless, Microservices architecture, and documented experience in REST, Angular, React, Typescript, Web Content Accessibility/USDS, UX, HTML5, CSS5, and SQL.
  • The role requires participation in all phases of Agile methodology, including planning, grooming, and coding sprint items.
  • The candidate will perform application enhancements, build new products, implement code using AWS Native Services, and engage with architects/product teams to create innovative solutions.
  • Additional responsibilities include performing code reviews, translating requirements into technical specifications, and troubleshooting issues in various environments.

Requirements:

  • Candidates must have extensive experience in developing code using AWS Serverless technologies and AWS container infrastructure.
  • Experience with Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMS), PostgreSQL, Dynamo DB, and No SQL Databases is required.
  • Proficiency in Web Services (SOAP/REST), XML, JSON, and working within a Continuous Integration environment using Docker and Kubernetes is necessary.
  • Strong understanding of RESTful API design, JSON, and API security is essential.
  • Candidates should have excellent knowledge of AWS Infrastructure, Services, Configuration, and automation.
  • Familiarity with monitoring tools such as New Relic, Splunk, and CloudWatch is required.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools like Maven, Gradle, ANT, Grunt, and Jenkins is necessary.
  • Expertise in testing tools such as Soap UI/ready API, JMeter, Selenium, and Cucumber is required.
  • Candidates must be able to identify and solve technical problems independently and efficiently.
  • A minimum of 5 years of application development experience is required, with 2 to 4 years specifically in AWS Serverless Architecture and containers.
  • A Bachelor's degree in a technical field is necessary.
