Description:
The position is for a Full Stack Developer / Software Engineer on a contract-to-hire basis, fully remote with an EST work schedule.
The role involves modernizing a suite of applications for a long-term government contract.
The candidate will work under the supervision of the Development Manager as a key member of a scrum team in an Agile Safe and Dev SecOps culture.
Responsibilities include developing and maintaining a web application/portal using Java, Python, AWS Containers, Angular, Node.js, React technologies, and AWS native services.
The candidate should have a good foundation in Web Application Portals, Single Sign On, JEE platform, AWS Serverless, Microservices architecture, and documented experience in REST, Angular, React, Typescript, Web Content Accessibility/USDS, UX, HTML5, CSS5, and SQL.
The role requires participation in all phases of Agile methodology, including planning, grooming, and coding sprint items.
The candidate will perform application enhancements, build new products, implement code using AWS Native Services, and engage with architects/product teams to create innovative solutions.
Additional responsibilities include performing code reviews, translating requirements into technical specifications, and troubleshooting issues in various environments.
Requirements:
Candidates must have extensive experience in developing code using AWS Serverless technologies and AWS container infrastructure.
Experience with Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMS), PostgreSQL, Dynamo DB, and No SQL Databases is required.
Proficiency in Web Services (SOAP/REST), XML, JSON, and working within a Continuous Integration environment using Docker and Kubernetes is necessary.
Strong understanding of RESTful API design, JSON, and API security is essential.
Candidates should have excellent knowledge of AWS Infrastructure, Services, Configuration, and automation.
Familiarity with monitoring tools such as New Relic, Splunk, and CloudWatch is required.
Experience with CI/CD tools like Maven, Gradle, ANT, Grunt, and Jenkins is necessary.
Expertise in testing tools such as Soap UI/ready API, JMeter, Selenium, and Cucumber is required.
Candidates must be able to identify and solve technical problems independently and efficiently.
A minimum of 5 years of application development experience is required, with 2 to 4 years specifically in AWS Serverless Architecture and containers.
A Bachelor's degree in a technical field is necessary.
