Remote Principal Data Architect

Description:

• Automox is seeking a Principal Data Architect to lead the architectural design and implementation of a new data platform.
• The role involves designing and implementing real-time data processing pipelines capable of scaling to millions of events per second.
• The Data Architect will work with AWS services such as Kinesis, DynamoDB, RedShift, and EMR to create scalable solutions.
• Responsibilities include creating data modeling standards, collaborating with engineering teams, developing migration strategies, and mentoring engineers on best practices.
• The position is remote, allowing work from home in the US or Ontario, with a compensation range of $200,000 - $250,000 USD plus bonuses.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have 8+ years of experience in data architecture, with at least 3 years focused on high-throughput distributed systems.
• Proven experience in designing and implementing systems that process over 1 million events per second is required.
• Deep expertise with AWS data services, including Kinesis, DynamoDB, RedShift, S3, and EMR, is essential.
• A strong background in data modeling for both operational and analytical workloads is necessary.
• Experience with real-time stream processing frameworks such as Apache Kafka or Amazon Kinesis is required.
• A track record of successfully re-architecting large-scale production systems is needed.
• Expertise in distributed systems patterns and eventual consistency models is required.
