Description:

Gopuff is seeking a Principal Data Scientist for the Consumer Experience team to solve impactful problems using data science.
The role involves building solutions that change how people purchase daily goods, with a focus on Search and Recommendations.
The Data Scientist will have ownership from prototype to productionalization and will work on high-impact projects.
Responsibilities include building and enhancing machine learning, statistical, and causal models for product search, ranking, and recommendation.
The position requires collaboration with product and engineering managers to develop and deploy solutions.
The Data Scientist will educate business and engineering partners on data science concepts and present work to leadership.
The role includes identifying gaps in existing data, creating data product specifications, and working with engineering teams for enhanced data tracking.
The Data Scientist will partner with analytics team members to share insights and best practices.
Commitment to automation and productionalized solutions is expected, along with providing mentorship to less experienced data scientists.
This is a remote position.

Requirements:

A Master's or PhD in statistics, mathematics, analytics, computer science, or another quantitative field, along with 3+ years of experience as a data scientist in eCommerce or Logistics, or 8+ years of experience in the same fields.
Hands-on experience in building ranking and recommendation models in production environments is required.
Experience in applying descriptive statistics, machine learning, predictive modeling, and visualization techniques to solve business problems is necessary.
Expert knowledge in statistical and machine learning techniques, data science libraries in a programming or scripting language, model deployment, and machine learning workflows is essential.
Proficiency in Python and related ML libraries and frameworks (e.g., PyTorch) is required.
Proficiency in SQL and experience working with large datasets is necessary.
Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure) and model development and deployment technologies (e.g., Databricks) is required.
Excellent communication and presentation skills to both technical and business audiences are essential.

Gopuff offers a competitive salary based on market pricing, with a remote US salary range of $160,000 - $260,000.
The salary will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions.
