Description:

  • Figure is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to join the Data Engineering team and enhance its data architecture.
  • The role involves driving the design and implementation of scalable data solutions that align with Figure’s organizational goals.
  • Responsibilities include leading the architectural design of data infrastructure, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and shaping data management and governance practices.
  • The engineer will develop large-scale data processing frameworks using tools like Apache Beam, Kafka, and BigQuery.
  • Mentoring senior engineers and influencing company-wide technical strategies are key aspects of the position.
  • The role requires ensuring that the data infrastructure supports analytics, reporting, and product development needs.
  • The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment and have a deep understanding of data engineering.

Requirements:

  • Candidates must have 12+ years of experience in data engineering or related fields, with a proven track record in architecting large-scale, cloud-based data solutions.
  • Strong leadership skills are required, including experience mentoring senior engineers and leading technical teams.
  • Expertise in distributed data processing systems, data pipelines, and cloud platforms, preferably Google Cloud, is essential.
  • A deep understanding of ETL processes, data warehousing concepts, and advanced data transformation techniques is necessary.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala is required, focusing on data engineering use cases.
  • Hands-on experience with infrastructure-as-code tools and modern CI/CD pipelines is expected.
  • Experience with monitoring and logging frameworks to ensure data platform stability is important.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across teams are essential.
  • A proactive and innovative mindset with a passion for solving complex technical problems is desired.
