Figure is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to join the Data Engineering team and enhance its data architecture.
The role involves driving the design and implementation of scalable data solutions that align with Figure’s organizational goals.
Responsibilities include leading the architectural design of data infrastructure, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and shaping data management and governance practices.
The engineer will develop large-scale data processing frameworks using tools like Apache Beam, Kafka, and BigQuery.
Mentoring senior engineers and influencing company-wide technical strategies are key aspects of the position.
The role requires ensuring that the data infrastructure supports analytics, reporting, and product development needs.
The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment and have a deep understanding of data engineering.
Requirements:
Candidates must have 12+ years of experience in data engineering or related fields, with a proven track record in architecting large-scale, cloud-based data solutions.
Strong leadership skills are required, including experience mentoring senior engineers and leading technical teams.
Expertise in distributed data processing systems, data pipelines, and cloud platforms, preferably Google Cloud, is essential.
A deep understanding of ETL processes, data warehousing concepts, and advanced data transformation techniques is necessary.
Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala is required, focusing on data engineering use cases.
Hands-on experience with infrastructure-as-code tools and modern CI/CD pipelines is expected.
Experience with monitoring and logging frameworks to ensure data platform stability is important.
Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across teams are essential.
A proactive and innovative mindset with a passion for solving complex technical problems is desired.
