  • The role involves building software that enables talent teams to create an efficient and respectful hiring process.
  • The SRE will work on creating a "paved road" for engineering teams to follow safely and effectively.
  • The position is open to candidates who may lean towards either Platform Engineer or Site Reliability Engineer roles.
  • The SRE will be responsible for optimizing a homegrown ultra-dynamic recruiting DSL-to-SQL compiler and creating tools to assist developers.
  • Responsibilities also include creating automated guardrails for customer data security and privacy, facilitating fast feature shipping through canary deploys and feature flags, defining SLOs and implementing SLIs, ensuring reliable communication with external services, and supporting an event-driven architecture and data warehouse.
  • The SRE will own projects end-to-end and significantly impact the Ashby developer and user experience.
  • The company values engineers who are problem solvers, care about their work and team, and have experience building infrastructure at a later stage than Ashby.
  • The role requires a balance of reliability and flexibility, with a focus on evaluating risks.

Requirements:

  • Candidates must be highly curious and persistent in solving complex problems.
  • A strong commitment to not taking shortcuts and advocating for future users and edge cases is essential.
  • Applicants should have experience building infrastructure and automating processes related to provisioning, monitoring, and release.
  • The ideal candidate is a versatile engineer who is comfortable tackling various challenges, including infrastructure updates, security enforcement, and debugging.
  • Proficiency in SQL and coding is required, as SREs are expected to contribute to the application at a platform level.
  • Candidates should be self-motivated and capable of managing their projects without constant oversight.
  • Experience with a tech stack that includes TypeScript, Node.js, React, Apollo GraphQL, Postgres, and Redis is preferred but not mandatory.

  • Top-notch health insurance is available for employees and their dependents, with all premiums covered by the company.
