Description:
Ashby is seeking a curious and problem-hungry Principal Site Reliability & Cloud Engineer to enhance their platform as they scale.
The role involves building a reliable and secure infrastructure that supports the hiring process for talent teams.
The position is open to candidates who lean towards either Platform Engineer or Site Reliability Engineer roles.
The engineer will own projects end-to-end, optimizing systems and creating automated solutions for reliability issues.
Responsibilities include optimizing a homegrown recruiting DSL-to-SQL compiler, creating automated guardrails for data security, and implementing infrastructure for an event-driven architecture.
The engineer will work closely with product engineers, ensuring that features are shipped quickly while maintaining reliability and security.
The role requires evaluating risks and making informed decisions to support the company's growth and customer needs.
Requirements:
Candidates should have experience building infrastructure at a later stage than Ashby, dealing with large data sets, and automating processes.
A strong coding background is essential, as the role involves reviewing and submitting code changes regularly.
Applicants must be comfortable making independent decisions regarding infrastructure and project management without constant oversight.
Familiarity with SQL is necessary, as the role involves working with data models and reports.
The ideal candidate should be adaptable and willing to tackle a variety of challenges, from security enforcement to database optimization.
