Description:

  • Anomali is a leading AI-powered security operations platform headquartered in Silicon Valley, focused on modernizing security operations.
  • The Principal Software Engineer will design, architect, and implement complex software and frameworks to deliver security analytics features primarily in SaaS and, as needed, in Virtual Appliance form factors.
  • This role involves defining best practices for SaaS development to release and deliver complex functionality with minimal impact to customers.
  • The engineer will influence and shape future products by contributing to the architecture and framework across multiple product lines.
  • Responsibilities include evaluating and recommending technology solutions to meet scalability and growth targets, creating prototypes, and executing phased development and deployment plans.
  • The engineer will lead a team of software engineers in a cross-functional environment to deliver on complex projects and address customer issues by identifying root causes and delivering high-quality solutions in a timely manner.
  • The position requires executing with agility in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements:

  • A BSc/BEng/MSc in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience in lieu of a degree is required.
  • Candidates must have 10+ years of software development experience, with at least 5 years in a distributed system environment.
  • Proficiency in Python, Java, C/C++, or another modern OOP language used for scalable distributed system backend development is essential.
  • Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, caching systems like Redis, and message buses such as RabbitMQ is required.
  • Candidates should have experience in data analytics pipeline development for structured, semi-structured, or unstructured data, preferably in security analytics.
  • Cloud-native development experience in AWS, GCP, or Azure is required, with a preference for AWS.
  • Experience in delivering software with observability integrated into the system, including the creation of observability dashboards, metrics, and alerts using tools such as NewRelic, Splunk, or DataDog is necessary.
