Description:

  • We are an ambitious, remote-first travel scale-up looking to grow our engineering team with outstanding product engineers.
  • This role is ideal for passionate developers who love the outdoors and excel at delivering exceptional user experiences.
  • You will be part of a dynamic micro-team that combines engineering, product management, and design to achieve shared goals.
  • Each team owns its mission, whether it’s helping adventurers find and book trips or building tools for hosts and internal teams to manage bookings and logistics.
  • This is a full-stack role involving work on React/Next.js applications and supporting backend systems, including search indexes, content management tools, and Django APIs.
  • You will collaborate closely with teammates and stakeholders, taking ownership of challenges and delivering impactful products that enhance outdoor exploration.

Requirements:

  • You must have broad technical experience, including at least 2 out of the following 3: proven experience with React/Next.js and Typescript, React Native and the native app deployment process, and Python with Django, including Django REST Framework and PostgreSQL.
  • Additional experience with tracking and analytics tools, feature flags, experimentation frameworks, and integrating with services like HubSpot and Contentful is a plus.
  • You should have a product mindset, driven by understanding customer needs and creating valuable solutions, and be comfortable discussing ideas with customers, designers, and stakeholders.
  • An engineering mindset is essential, where you take time to understand problems and design solutions before executing, and are metrics-driven to measure the impact of solutions.
  • You must have a strong appreciation for high-quality UX/UI and the ability to translate Figma prototypes into clean, responsive UIs with a mobile-first approach.
  • The position requires mid to senior experience, with at least 5 years in the industry.

Benefits:

  • You will work in an entrepreneurial and creative environment where great ideas are encouraged, and taking responsibility for them is expected.
  • You will contribute to making a significant difference to small independent businesses, local economies, and communities.
  • The position offers 38 days of holiday per year, inclusive of public holidays, which can be used flexibly.
  • You will receive an annual company performance-based bonus and have flexible working hours in a fully remote setup.
  • Company-wide adventurous meet-ups and a free MBA trip within your first year are included.
  • You will receive a Β£500 annual travel voucher for MBA trips and a 30% employee discount, plus a 15% friends and family discount for MBA trips.
  • A generous pension scheme is available for UK employees, along with free access to a private GP and unlimited mental health support and counseling.
  • You will have a budget to set up a remote working space and access to co-working spaces.
  • Supportive maternity and paternity pay is offered, including 16 weeks full pay for primary caregivers and 4 weeks full pay for secondary caregivers.
