Remote Senior Application Security Engineer

Description:

• Magic Eden is seeking an experienced Application Security Engineer to join their growing security team.
• The role involves embedding security into development processes and ensuring that services are designed and implemented to high security standards.
• Responsibilities include conducting design reviews, threat modeling, and code reviews for new features and products.
• The engineer will identify gaps in the software development process and lead efforts to address them.
• Educating and training engineering teams on secure coding best practices is a key responsibility.
• The engineer will investigate vulnerabilities reported via the bug bounty platform, determining their root cause and severity.
• Documenting identified vulnerabilities clearly to enable quick action by the engineering team is also required.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have 4+ years of experience building and securing software.
• A strong understanding of security risks, vulnerabilities, and concepts in web and mobile applications is essential.
• Proficiency in TypeScript, Rust, and iOS/Android application development is required.
• Proven experience in security design reviews, threat modeling, or security testing is necessary.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are a must.
