Remote Senior Back End Engineer

Description:

• We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to help build and scale our product in a fully remote environment.

• Experience with Java or another object-oriented programming language is essential, along with the ability to learn new languages.
• The role involves taking ownership of customer-facing features and collaborating closely with the CTO and Tech Lead to set technical direction.
• Responsibilities include designing, developing, and maintaining new product features and third-party integrations using Java Spring Boot, Go, and SQL.
• The candidate will troubleshoot and debug client issues, mentor junior engineers, and redefine best-in-class software development processes.
• The company, Secfix, automates security compliance for SMBs in Europe, integrating with various tech stacks to facilitate compliance.

Requirements:

• A minimum of 5 years of experience as a backend or product engineer, with strong object-oriented programming fundamentals.
• Proficiency in Java Spring Boot, Hibernate, and SQL, with experience in designing scalable backend architecture and relational database solutions.
• An owner mindset, capable of iterating and taking pride in customer-facing features from conception to deployment.
• Experience in a fast-paced, agile startup environment, ideally as one of the first engineers in a startup.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships in a fully remote setup.
• A passion for sharing knowledge and championing new technologies, with a proven track record of ownership in previous roles.
