Description:

Kraken Technologies, a company within Octopus Energy Group, is seeking a Senior Backend Developer proficient in Python to join their team in Brussels.
The company focuses on creating a smart, sustainable energy system by optimizing renewable generation, creating an intelligent grid, and enabling utilities to provide excellent customer experiences.
The role involves solving difficult design and technical challenges in the European energy market, including domain modeling and processing millions of meter readings daily.
The ideal candidate will have at least 7 years of experience in Python, expertise in Django or equivalent web frameworks, knowledge of domain modeling, experience with HTTP and REST APIs, and the ability to write robust and fault-tolerant software.
Additional desired skills include familiarity with Celery and async processing, Postgres, AWS, Terraform, Packer, Consul, React, and Redux.
Fluency in Dutch or Flemish and at least a B2 level in English is required for this position.
This is a full remote position suitable for senior developers with strong technical abilities and autonomy.

Requirements:

Minimum 7 years of experience in Python.
Proficiency in Django or equivalent web frameworks.
Strong knowledge of domain modeling.
Experience with HTTP and REST APIs.
Ability to write robust and fault-tolerant software.
Familiarity with Celery and async processing.
Experience with Postgres.
Additional experience in AWS, Terraform, Packer, Consul, React, and Redux is a bonus.
Fluency in Dutch or Flemish and at least a B2 level in English.
