Description:
The Senior Backend Engineer will be responsible for developing microservices in a distributed deployment environment, focusing on containerization with Docker and Kubernetes.
The role involves working on the core logic of complex systems that are accessed millions of times a day, rather than writing simple CRUD applications.
The company has built its system from scratch about three years ago, allowing the engineer to work with the latest technology without dealing with legacy code.
A willingness to work with Spring Boot is required, along with demonstrable experience in an object-oriented programming language.
Responsibilities include developing highly-scalable mobile internet backends for millions of users, collaborating with Product Owners and team members to determine new features, participating in code reviews, responding to support calls for production applications, and mentoring less experienced team members.
Potential on-call responsibilities may be required depending on team and tenure.
Requirements:
A minimum of 6+ years of experience in a relevant role is required.
Preferred experience includes Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, Spring Data, and iBATIS.
Strong experience in developing highly-scalable web backends and designing highly transactional systems is necessary.
Advanced proficiency in Object Oriented Design (OOD), application analysis/design engineering functions, and non-functional software qualities such as resiliency and maintainability is required.
Candidates should have a deep understanding of Microservices and be proficient in SQL.
Expert knowledge of application development with technologies like RabbitMQ, MySQL, and Redis is essential.
Strong experience with container and cloud solutions such as Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS Cloud is required.
The ability to work independently and excellent communication skills in English are necessary.
