Description:

RYZ Labs is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join a client’s team focused on building a global clearing house for the music industry.
The role involves helping artists, songwriters, and rights holders get paid faster and more accurately through a music data platform.
As a senior member of the engineering team, you will design and scale services that manage large amounts of data, making it useful and searchable for internal product teams and external rights holders.
You will report to the CTO and collaborate with the executive team to ensure the success of the company's strategy.
Key responsibilities include developing and deploying scalable systems, designing large-scale distributed systems, collaborating with cross-functional partners, and understanding music copyright and metadata standards.

Requirements:

A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field is required.
A minimum of 5 years of software development experience is necessary.
Candidates must be comfortable writing production code in Python and/or Typescript.
Extensive experience in developing and deploying large, distributed systems is required.
Familiarity with large-scale data processing tools and platforms like Hadoop or Spark is essential.
Experience with one of the cloud platforms: AWS, GCP, or Azure is required.
Preferred qualifications include advanced knowledge of AWS services such as EC2, S3, ECS, and EMR.
Experience with Node.js and Docker is preferred.
A background in the copyright space, particularly in music or related media industries, is advantageous.
Bonus points for experience with text embeddings and search infrastructure.
A love of music, especially knowledge of music composition and publishing, is a plus.
