Responsibilities include maintaining and improving existing APIs using PHP/Java, reverse-engineering backend services, and collaborating with product managers on requirements.
The engineer will design analytics systems, create unit tests, and improve code quality and test coverage.

Mentoring less experienced engineers and debugging production systems are also key responsibilities.

Requirements:

A Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent is required.
Candidates must have 4+ years of related experience in backend engineering.
At least 2 years of experience with PHP 7.x and Spring/Spring Boot is necessary.
Experience with cloud technologies such as AWS for 2+ years is required.
An expert-level understanding of Java 1.8+ is essential, with knowledge of other backend languages being advantageous.
Mastery in REST and API development, along with strong SQL skills, is required.
Familiarity with eventing frameworks like Kafka and analytic datastores like Clickhouse is a plus.
A firm grasp of architectural principles for backend applications and practical experience with OOP, SOLID, and KISS principles is needed.
Candidates should have a good understanding of Git, agile methodology, and strong terminal skills for Unix or Linux.
Debugging skills and experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or other container technologies are important.
Strong communication skills, a solid work ethic, and a commitment to accountability are essential.
A desire to build software that customers love is a must.
