The Uniswap Labs team is building products to unlock value through universal exchange, envisioning a future where digital economies flourish and markets are transparent, global, and equitable.
The products include the Uniswap Interface, the Uniswap Mobile App, and the Uniswap Extension, all powered by the Uniswap Protocol, which is the largest on-chain marketplace with billions of dollars in weekly volume across thousands of tokens on Ethereum and 8+ additional chains.
The role of Senior Backend Engineer involves writing high-quality and well-tested code, reviewing code from other team members, and collaborating with engineers, designers, and product managers to turn requirements into products while leading the execution end to end.
The engineer will provide guidance and technical leadership to peers in navigating architectural and coding tradeoffs and will drive strategic technical initiatives across engineering pods that impact the entire engineering organization.
The position is available for candidates based in New York or those who prefer to work remotely.

Requirements:

Candidates must have 6+ years of software engineering experience.
Excellent coding skills, a deep understanding of cloud architectures, algorithms, and strong debugging capabilities are required.
The ability to manage projects comprehensively, from gathering requirements and designing to debugging, testing, and release management, is essential.
Experience in designing, building, and maintaining a large-scale production system on the cloud, ensuring smooth operation and high availability, is necessary.
Candidates should be able to build systems from the ground up in a 0→1 fashion.
A desire to keep up with modern best practices in software development/Web3 and to shape the tech stack as new systems and services are built is important.
Experience mentoring junior engineers is required.
Nice to have qualifications include prior experience as a Technical Lead, experience with time-series based monitoring/observability systems, a degree in computer science, experience with Typescript, experience with AWS, and a love for unicorns.

The minimum full-time salary for this position ranges from $210,000 to $232,000, with additional compensation elements including equity, tokens, and benefits based on the position type.
