Description:

The Senior Backend Engineer will work on the Content Platform team, focusing on Content Modelling and Orchestration.
The team is tasked with connecting and re-using content within the Contentful platform and external systems, such as apps built in the App Framework.
The role involves solving complex engineering problems and enhancing the flexibility of content connection and re-use for customers.
Responsibilities include improving REST and GraphQL API experiences that handle billions of requests monthly and leveraging AI to enhance user experience.
The position requires development on modern services like AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, and Terraform.
Requirements:
Candidates must have experience in designing, building, and delivering robust distributed systems, REST APIs, and event-driven architectures.
Strong knowledge and commercial experience with the server-side JavaScript ecosystem, specifically Node.js and TypeScript, is required.
The candidate should lead by example, advocating for agile processes, operational excellence, and coding best practices such as test-driven development.
Strong teamwork skills are essential, with an openness to diverse opinions and the ability to mentor less experienced engineers.
Familiarity with automated deployment processes (CI/CD) and version control (Git) is necessary.
Excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written, are required; knowledge of German is not necessary.
Knowledge of functional programming principles, GraphQL, and React is considered a plus.
