Remote Senior Backend Engineer (Go) - Contractual

Description:

• We are seeking Senior Backend Engineers who can hack around multiple technologies and build highly scalable, low latency, distributed systems with RESTful services.
• You will be responsible for developing new software products (internal) and solving complex technical challenges for scale-ups and enterprise companies.
• You should excel in working with large-scale applications and frameworks and have outstanding communication and leadership skills.
• You will be responsible for writing clean, high-quality, high-performance, and maintainable code.
• You will solve complex technical problems and perform an objective analysis of the problem statement to come up with unbiased technical solutions before writing any code.
• You will coordinate cross-functionally to ensure the project meets business objectives and compliance standards.
• You will participate in and drive code reviews, build robust, secure, and scalable microservices, and implement RESTful services with a metric-driven API Gateway.
• You will ensure sub-second server response and will be responsible for implementing various data stores as needed.
• You will track defects and work with business owners and users to triage bugs and manage the backlog.
• You will take ownership to run and maintain Cloud infrastructure and evaluate relevant technologies, influencing and driving architecture and design discussions.
• You will architect and design the platform, mentor junior engineers, write documentation, and create engineering processes.
• You will work as an individual contributor, help drive KPIs with Product, and take ownership of backend systems.
• You will assist with unit tests and the QA process, scale the engineering team, and work on system scaling to hundreds of millions of users.
• You will collaborate with product managers and designers.

Requirements:

• You should have overall 6+ years of experience in software development with a strong base in Golang/Java/Python and a degree in Computer Science (optional).
• You must have experience with Go, K8, Docker, AWS, and CI/CD.
• You should have experience with micro web frameworks like Springboot, Gin/Mux.
• You must have experience in working with microservice architectures, transactional systems, and distributed environments.
• You should have exposure to building RESTful APIs with monitoring, fault tolerance, and metrics (with something like Hystrix).
• You must have experience with MySQL and NoSQL (Cassandra, Redis, DynamoDB).
• You should have experience in server-side services using ElasticSearch and ESB - Camel, ActiveMQ.
• You must have DevOps experience and experience with the AWS stack.
• You should have excellent attention to detail and outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
• You must be a self-starter who can work well with minimal to no guidance in a fluid environment.
• You should be excited by challenges surrounding the development of highly scalable and distributed systems.
• You must be agile and able to adapt quickly to changing requirements, scope, and priorities.
• You should have experience working on massively large-scale data systems in production environments.
• It is optional to have led or mentored an engineering team before, contributed to open-source projects, or have a strong drive for continued growth.
• Proficiency in English is required, and experience with Web3 is a bonus.
