The Senior Backend Engineer - Mailing Specialist position is a full-time remote role requiring 10+ years of experience in relevant fields.
The role involves contributing to a large-scale, complex product that impacts hundreds of thousands of users worldwide.
Responsibilities include close communication with Direct Mail vendors, designing and maintaining Direct Mail processes, and collaborating with various teams to meet product and technical needs.
The engineer will work with extensive environments including Platform, API, and Mobile App, and will participate in daily stand-ups to maintain communication within the remote team.
The position requires building testable code, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring compliance with coding standards.

Requirements:

Candidates must have 10+ years of experience in the US mailing industry, specifically in Direct Mail systems.
Expertise in Direct Mail back-end solutions, including address hygiene, presorting, and postage discount optimization is required.
A minimum of 7 years of experience in building scalable back-end solutions using Node.js, .NET, or Spring Boot is necessary.
Strong communication skills and advanced English proficiency are essential for explaining complex concepts to diverse audiences.
Familiarity with USPS standards, REST, SOAP, and WebSockets is required, along with adaptability to Oppizi’s technical stack.
Understanding of TDD principles, clean architecture, and domain-driven design principles is necessary.
Experience with GIT, RabbitMQ, Redis, and various databases (MongoDB, MySQL, PostgreSQL) is required.
Must demonstrate excellent communication skills, extensive experience in the USPS Direct Mail industry, and a pragmatic approach to testing.
Nice-to-have skills include experience in backend development with Express and GraphQL, AWS, and front-end development with React.
