Remote Senior Backend Engineer (Python)

• The role is for a senior backend developer with strong experience in Python and API development to join the engineering team.
• Responsibilities include designing, developing, and maintaining scalable backend services, creating and optimizing RESTful APIs, working with databases, implementing security best practices, collaborating with frontend teams, and mentoring junior developers.
• This is a long-term contract opportunity with compensation paid in USD on a monthly schedule.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have 5+ years of backend development experience with Python.
• Proficiency with web frameworks such as Django or Flask is required.
• Strong experience in designing and developing RESTful APIs is necessary.
• Advanced knowledge of PostgreSQL and MongoDB is essential.
• Familiarity with microservices architectures and containers (Docker) is required.
• Experience with version control systems (Git) is mandatory.
• Candidates should possess performance optimization and scalability skills.
• Knowledge of web security and data protection is required.
• Desired qualifications include experience with cloud computing (AWS, GCP, or Azure), knowledge of CI/CD and agile methodologies, familiarity with frontend technologies (JavaScript, React), and experience with automated testing and TDD.
