• The Senior Backend Engineer will work on a critical project within the DriveShield™ team to enhance driver safety.
• This role involves building scalable and high-performance backend systems to support Jerry.ai’s growth from 5M to 50M customers.
• Responsibilities include focusing on non-functional requirements such as service availability, scalability, reliability, and security.
• The engineer will oversee system design and architecture, develop and optimize stream processing applications using Kafka and Flink, and collaborate with data scientists for model deployment.
• The position emphasizes data processing, sanitization, validation, and data quality assurance.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have 5+ years of software engineering experience.
• Proficiency in at least one core programming language such as Java, Python, Go, or JavaScript is required.
• Expertise in Kafka, Flink, and AWS is essential.
• Experience in building stream processing applications is necessary.
• Knowledge in system programming is expected.
• Strong problem-solving skills are a must, with the ability to work independently without detailed instructions.
• A track record of shipping products and features quickly is important.
• Startup experience at a high-growth company is a plus.
• Previous knowledge of working with geospatial data is considered a bonus.
