Description:
Dataplor is a rapidly expanding global location data company focused on mapping and understanding every commercial location on the planet.
The company is seeking a highly skilled backend engineer to join as a Senior Backend Ruby Engineer.

The role requires fluency in Postgres as the primary datastore and high-level proficiency in Ruby, which is the core language of the system.
Additional helpful skills include experience with Javascript and Python, handling large datasets, advanced experience with spatial data, practical knowledge of embeddings and vectors, Docker experience, and familiarity with a complex AWS ecosystem.
Requirements:
Candidates must be very fluent in working with and understanding the performance characteristics of relational databases, specifically Postgres.
High-level proficiency in Ruby is required as it is the core language of the system.
Experience with Javascript and Python is a great plus but not mandatory.
Candidates should have experience working with large datasets and the unique constraints they impose.
Advanced experience with spatial data, including the use of polygons and geometric operations, is essential.
Practical knowledge of embeddings and vectors is required to leverage them for problem-solving.
Experience with Docker is preferred for cloud applications.
Familiarity with a complex and often poorly documented AWS ecosystem is necessary.
