The Senior Backend Software Engineer will join the Partner Content (CODE) team in Portugal, focusing on enhancing the user experience in wellbeing.
The CODE team is responsible for developing and maintaining Wellhub's App, frontend, and backend services.
The role involves working on generative AI development, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), API development and integration, and collaboration with cross-functional teams.
The engineer will design and implement generative AI applications, optimize RAG systems, develop secure APIs, and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
The position emphasizes the importance of wellbeing and creating a supportive work environment.
Requirements:
A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, or a related field is required.
Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, Go, Kotlin, Java, C, or C++ are necessary.
Experience with SQL/NoSQL technologies like OpenSearch, DynamoDB, and PostgreSQL is required.
Proven experience in API development and integration is essential.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail are mandatory.
Strong communication skills in both English and Portuguese are required.
Ability to work efficiently on scalable and distributed projects is necessary.
Experience with projects that have unclear scopes is preferred.
A fast learner who can adapt to new technologies quickly is desired.
Passion for building reliable minimum viable products and pilots in a short timeframe is essential.
Preferred qualifications include a PhD in a related field, familiarity with generative AI frameworks, experience with cloud platforms, knowledge of data engineering, and experience with machine learning frameworks.
