The Senior Backend Engineer will join the Search & Discovery Team, which focuses on providing exploration and discovery services for Wellhub’s end-users.
Responsibilities include building scalable architectures, writing clean code, designing and developing software services for search and recommendations, leading engineering projects, analyzing user data, and contributing to the product development process.

Requirements:

Candidates must have expertise in designing and developing complex modern web applications.
Proficiency in object-oriented and functional design patterns, as well as RESTful web services, is required.
A strong command of computer science fundamentals, including data structures and algorithm design, is necessary.
Candidates should be skilled in at least two programming languages such as C, C++, Java, Scala, Ruby, Python, or Go.
Proven experience in leading the development of complex software systems is essential.
Advanced knowledge of cloud platforms and experience with containerized application deployments are required.
Competence in both SQL and NoSQL technologies, including PostgreSQL, Redis, and Elasticsearch, is necessary.
Excellent communication skills in English and Portuguese, both verbally and in writing, are required.
Candidates should be eager to learn new programming languages and cloud platforms quickly.
Experience in information retrieval, recommendation systems, and natural language processing is preferred.
A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience is required.
