Remote Senior Cloud Architect

Description:

• Kaeppel Consulting is seeking a Senior Cloud Architect to work for one of its clients in Erie, PA.
• This is a temporary role for a period of 6 months with a possible extension.
• The position can be remote for individuals located in Erie, PA, with an option for hire after a certain time-frame.
• The Senior Cloud Architect will create an environment that provides full context to drive strategy for moderately complex, transformative initiatives.
• The role involves developing and validating IT architecture against business requirements for initiatives of moderate architectural impact.
• The architect will set direction and achieve alignment around the IT strategy, determining the best path to achieve it.
• The position empowers the organization to make high-quality technology and process decisions that enable the business vision.
• Responsibilities may include Enterprise Architecture, Solution Architecture, and Technology Architecture.
• The role focuses on building and migrating applications, software, and services on the Cloud, specifically the AWS platform.
• The architect will educate customers and participate in architectural discussions to ensure successful cloud deployment.
• Conducting training sessions to transfer knowledge to customers considering or using AWS is also part of the role.
• The architect will capture and share best-practice knowledge among the technical architect community.
• Authoring or contributing to whitepapers on Cloud architecture and best practices is expected.
• Building deep relationships with senior technical individuals within customers to enable them to be cloud advocates is essential.
• Acting as a technical liaison between customers, service engineering teams, and support is a key responsibility.

Requirements:

• A minimum of 3 years of design, implementation, or consulting experience in applications or infrastructures is required.
• At least 8 years of experience within specific technology domain areas such as software development, DevOps, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, or data & analytics is necessary.
• A minimum of 5 years of design, implementation, or consulting experience with distributed applications is required.
• At least 7 years of experience in infrastructure architecture, database architecture, and networking is necessary.
• A working knowledge of software development tools and methodologies is required.
• A technical degree is required, with a Master's degree preferred; a background in Computer Science or Math is highly desired.
• AWS Solutions Architect certification is required.
