Description:

ClickHouse is seeking a Senior Cloud Performance Engineer to join their Cloud Engineering team, which is responsible for building the cloud-native ClickHouse Cloud Platform.
The role involves benchmarking system performance, conducting database performance analysis, and optimizing capacity.
Responsibilities include troubleshooting applications, recommending configuration tuning for performance bottlenecks, and collaborating with core development, cloud, and security teams to enhance ClickHouse Cloud performance.
The engineer will plan and drive Chaos initiatives across engineering teams, develop tools for chaos experiments, and study software resilience and operational issues.
The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of large-scale distributed systems and will be involved in extending the backend to enable Chaos Engineering techniques.

Requirements:

Candidates must have 6+ years of relevant software development experience in building and operating scalable, fault-tolerant distributed systems.
Proficiency in software development using Go, C/C++, Java, or similar languages is required.
Experience with concurrency, multithreading, and deploying distributed system architectures is essential.
Candidates should have experience developing cloud infrastructure services, preferably with Kubernetes.
A proven track record of leading and shipping large technical projects in collaboration with experienced engineers is necessary.
Expertise with a public cloud provider (AWS, GCP, Azure) and their infrastructure as a service offerings is required.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well within and across teams are essential.
Strong problem-solving abilities and solid production debugging skills are necessary.
A passion for efficiency, availability, scalability, and data governance is expected.
