Remote Senior Core Platform Engineer

• Boatsetter is seeking a passionate Senior Platform Engineer to join their dynamic engineering team and help modernize their tech stack.
• The focus of the Core Platform team is on enablement and empowerment, providing modules, libraries, tools, subject matter expertise, training, and documentation for other teams.

• The position is primarily remote but prefers synchronous work methods like pair and mob programming.

• Qualifications include deep proficiency in AWS, expertise in optimizing infrastructure for Ruby and Go runtimes, configuring Kubernetes for scalability, establishing tools for continuous delivery, Terraform modularization, monitoring tooling, writing Go packages, problem-solving skills, collaboration, and communication.
• Participation in tech communities or conferences is a plus, and an interest in boating or outdoor experiences industries is beneficial.
• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field is preferred but not required.

Requirements:

• Demonstrated deep proficiency leveraging AWS.
• Expertise optimizing infrastructure to support Ruby and Go runtimes.
• Deep expertise configuring Kubernetes (AWS EKS) for scalability and resilience.
• Proven experience establishing tools and processes to enable continuous delivery.
• Proficiency and deep knowledge of Terraform modularization for distributed usage.
• Demonstrated ability to provide monitoring tooling enabling teams to own the performance and reliability of their services.
• Solid ability writing Go packages for open source consumption.
• Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot intricate issues.
• Excellent collaboration and verbal and written communication skills.
• Participation in tech communities or as a speaker at conferences is a valuable asset.
• Genuine interest in the boating or outdoor experiences industries is a plus.
