Description:
Arbor is on a mission to transform the way schools operate by providing the right tools and technology.
The Data team centralizes data from Arbor MIS and other sources into a Snowflake data warehouse for analytics.
The Senior Data Engineer will help maintain the availability, security, and performance of the Snowflake data warehouse.
Responsibilities include leading the development and maintenance of data platform capabilities, reviewing data platform changes, maintaining the CI/CD pipeline, deploying new data-related tools, sharing knowledge with the team, writing integrations between internal data systems, mentoring others, and collaborating with the Engineering Manager and Lead Data Engineer.
Requirements:
Candidates must have extensive experience writing SQL and Python.
Experience as a Senior Engineer on a data warehouse, ideally Snowflake, is required.
Candidates should have experience building and/or maintaining a CI/CD pipeline.
Familiarity with modern orchestration tools such as Prefect, Luigi, or Airflow is necessary.
Experience developing infrastructure using Terraform or a similar Infrastructure as Code (IAC) tool is required.
Proficiency in using Docker is essential.
A positive and proactive attitude towards problem-solving is expected.
Candidates should be team players willing to foster collaboration.
An understanding of modern software engineering principles is required.
Bonus skills include experience with dbt, AWS, data quality tooling, knowledge of EdTech, exposure to machine learning, and familiarity with data visualization or BI tools.
