Description:

  • Arbor is on a mission to transform the way schools operate by providing the right tools and technology.
  • The Data team centralizes data from Arbor MIS and other sources into a Snowflake data warehouse for analytics.
  • The Senior Data Engineer will help maintain the availability, security, and performance of the Snowflake data warehouse.
  • Responsibilities include leading the development and maintenance of data platform capabilities, reviewing data platform changes, maintaining the CI/CD pipeline, deploying new data-related tools, sharing knowledge with the team, writing integrations between internal data systems, mentoring others, and collaborating with the Engineering Manager and Lead Data Engineer.

Requirements:

  • Candidates must have extensive experience writing SQL and Python.
  • Experience as a Senior Engineer on a data warehouse, ideally Snowflake, is required.
  • Candidates should have experience building and/or maintaining a CI/CD pipeline.
  • Familiarity with modern orchestration tools such as Prefect, Luigi, or Airflow is necessary.
  • Experience developing infrastructure using Terraform or a similar Infrastructure as Code (IAC) tool is required.
  • Proficiency in using Docker is essential.
  • A positive and proactive attitude towards problem-solving is expected.
  • Candidates should be team players willing to foster collaboration.
  • An understanding of modern software engineering principles is required.
  • Bonus skills include experience with dbt, AWS, data quality tooling, knowledge of EdTech, exposure to machine learning, and familiarity with data visualization or BI tools.
