Description:
Biconomy empowers Web3 developers to build seamless, user-friendly dApps that work effortlessly across multiple blockchains.
The company’s modular account and execution stack eliminates traditional UX friction points, helping projects accelerate user adoption while reducing development costs.
Biconomy processes over 70 million transactions across the 300+ dApps it has served, powering the future of on-chain economies.
As a Data Engineer, you will play a foundational role in building and scaling the infrastructure that powers HyperSignals, Biconomy’s high-throughput analytics engine.
You will be responsible for ingesting terabytes of blockchain and CEX data and delivering analysis-ready datasets for quant and product teams.
Your work will help create the data backbone of a cutting-edge trading intelligence system.
Key responsibilities include designing, building, and maintaining streaming and batch ETL pipelines, developing NLP and sentiment pipelines, normalizing market data schemas, implementing low-latency ingestion systems, building and optimizing lakehouse/warehouse layers, enforcing data quality and observability, collaborating with quants and backend engineers, and continuously optimizing performance, cost, and scalability across AWS/GCP infrastructure.
Requirements:
You must have 4+ years of experience as a Data Engineer in high-throughput environments such as trading, crypto, or fintech.
Expert-level skills in Python (pandas, pyarrow, asyncio) and SQL are required, along with strong fundamentals in algorithms and distributed systems.
Proven experience with streaming frameworks (Flink, Spark Structured Streaming, Kafka Streams) and message buses (Kafka, Kinesis, Pulsar) is essential.
An in-depth understanding of blockchain data structures (blocks, receipts, logs), indexers (The Graph, Substreams), and node/RPC infrastructure is necessary.
Familiarity with CEX market APIs (REST & WebSocket) and the mechanics of perpetual futures (funding, mark price, open interest, liquidations) is required.
Proficiency in cloud-native development (AWS or GCP), including IaC (Terraform/CDK), CI/CD, and container orchestration (EKS/GKE) is expected.
A strong track record of building and owning production systems end-to-end, with clear documentation and operational rigor is important.
You should be passionate about perpetual futures and market microstructure; while you don’t need to be a trader, curiosity is key.
Benefits:
The position offers flexible working hours, allowing you to enjoy autonomy over your schedule.
A generous vacation policy is provided, with 25 days of vacation per year plus public holidays.
You will receive a competitive salary, with regular performance reviews.
Token allocation is part of the compensation package, rewarding you with tokens.
There are growth opportunities available, as you will be part of an exciting new project with significant career growth potential.
The company promotes an innovative work culture, allowing you to join a team at the cutting edge of Web3, AI, and DeFi, helping to shape the future of the digital economy.
Fun and engaging team activities, such as game nights, virtual celebrations, and work retreats, are organized to keep things exciting.
